Update 8 July 2011: Video – Flooding in All Saints Church due to bad water drainage

7 July 2011

PKR Kota Kinabalu division is glad and relieved at the swift action taken by the Mayor on the flood problem which had troubled the Wisma Anglican and its surrounding areas for the last three (3) years.

The church had complained (the flood problem) to the various department, DBKK, DID JKR and even health departments last three years but to no avail. Each time the respective department would said it would look into the problem but no action forth coming.

“It proves that if there is a will, there is a way. There will always be a solution for the problem. It only depends on the government’s relevant authorities whether they have the will to resolve the problems or not.

The Mayor’s action is commendable. He actually turun padang and visited the flooded area in Wisma Anglican shortly after our team (PKR) visited, and announced action plans to resolve the flood prone areas in and around Wisma Anglican immediately.

We hope with the action plan to be taken by DBKK, there will not be any more flood soon.
